We have been living through a nightmare ever since Hamas infamously attacked Israel on October 7th.

But despite the grief and the pain, the fear and the trauma, all of us have been called to action. Israelis of all stripes – religious and secular, liberal and conservative, Jewish and Arab – despite our seemingly insurmountable disagreements, have come together to respond to this crisis. Social initiatives have sprouted across the country and across lines of difference to meet these unprecedented needs and challenges. We see a flourishing entrepreneurial spirit, mutual commitment, and inspiring creative solutions.

Join us in backing those who have Israel’s back in this hour of crisis. DAYBREAK is rapidly providing critical financial support to crucial social initiatives during this national emergency. Every dollar you donate will go swiftly and directly to small but powerful projects that will restore Israel’s social resilience.

So far we have received over 1,000 grant applications. Examples of projects we have funded include:

Operating a mutual support network of a thousand volunteers to organize emergency housing, furniture, groceries, clothing, emotional support, children’s activities, and more.

Cooking hundreds of special meals for vegan soldiers and for strictly kosher displaced families.

Buying flowers for the funerals and offering a community of support for the bereaved.

Providing balloons, presents, and cake to children who are displaced from their homes and unable to celebrate their birthdays normally.

We need your support to continue meeting the needs arising from the field.

DAYBREAK was launched by the Fund for New Leadership and the Shaharit Institute in memory of Shaharit Board Chair Moshe Ohayon z”l, who was murdered alongside his son Eliad z”l by Hamas on October 7th.
